Ring 258 Meeting Minutes
Thursday, May 23,2013
President Jim Moody opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Bob Morris led the Club in the Pledge of Allegiance. Tom & Myrna brought Stanley Weiss of Miami Fl as their guest tonight. We had a additional visitor, Regina Shorazi from ring 317 L.I., N.Y.
Two new members were voted in unanimously tonight. Please welcome Sue Harris and Margene.
The April Minutes were approved. The Treasurer's report was given by George Smallwood and accepted. Our committee consisting of Lee Langer, Bryan Weller, and April Malara are still exploring options with other charities in Lake County. They will be reporting to us next month. Greg Solomon our lecture chairman reminded us that the Ice McDonald was our 3rd lecture for the year. Jim Gerishom is a possible future lecture on: Marketing Your Magic Business". Chris Dunn suggested Bob Swadling for a lecture in September or October.
Remember we will be having our summer picnic at George Smallwood's house again this year. Thanks once again to George for providing the location. Food for the picnic was discussed and tonight meeting was the last chance to sign up for the picnic.
Greg Solomon reviewed the effect "Gerti"; this effect comes with an coin and DVD. Greg does not recommend this effect.
Next meeting is going to be June the 27th. Next months theme will be effect that reset fast. Bob Betz won the 50/50.
Tonight's theme is escapes. Tom Golabek will be our MC for the evening. Magic Ian demonstrated escapes from handcuffs with a tap escape and also did a rope escape from stocks. Terry Harris, IBM member for 60 years this year, did a Rope Escape. Roger Ried did chain escapes for us. The Amazing Weller Brothers, Binkey & Robert, did a tribute to Harry Houdini which included escapes from handcuffs, straight jackets and a mailbag. Dan Stapleton discussed his escape from the hurricane roller coaster where he narrowly escaped death. Chuck Smith did a rope through woman routine.
Respectfully submitted
James (Skip) Waversak

Special Notice
You may have noticed that when I sent this to you this month all of the email addresses are visible, rather than sending it as a blind copy, which hides the addresses.
The reason for this is that due to recent health issues I find it necessary to summit my resignation and step down as the club's secretary. If you would consider taking over as secretary please save this email as it will give you an easy way to copy the membership's email addresses into your address book. If you would be willing to step up and take over as secretary please contact Jim Moody as he will be looking for my replacement before the next meeting. It has been an honor to serve as the secretary for the Lake County Magic Club and I look forward to seeing you at some future events or meetings.
